Seconds, M:SS.xx or H:MM:SS.xx. Example: 2:00.00. Blank and malformed clocks clear the answer.
Approximate score
Illustrative example: Men, Outdoor, 100m.
World Athletics points for 10.00 s.
2025 table fit, not an official certified score. A rounded inverse mark can convert back to a slightly different score.
Read the comparison
Points use an event-specific quadratic fit, rounded to a whole point; a few events use a linear fit. The usable branch rewards faster times or greater distances and totals. Unsupported or out-of-range marks return no answer, rather than wrapping to the other side of the curve.
The fits approximate the official 2025 scoring tables, revised 23 April. Checked listed marks that return a score differ by at most one point in the retained table comparison. Some official table boundaries fall outside the usable fit. That check does not certify every possible input or inverse result.
Time and distance inverse marks round to hundredths; combined-events totals round to whole points. Target points range from 0 to 1400, subject to an event’s usable fit. Rounding means an inverse comparison may not round-trip to the exact target.
This is not a complete world-ranking score or the event-by-event combined-events scoring formula. Wind, timing method, implement weight, hurdle height and eligibility are not validated. Use the official table and meet rules for decisions.
