100m Predictor

This 100m predictor estimates race performance from a block 30m split and a flying 10m split, with optional wind and reaction-time adjustments. Use it to translate practice timing into a realistic 100m projection.

The model is fit on elite and sub-elite men's 100m results and is strongest from roughly 9.6s to 11.1s. Outside that range treat the prediction as a rough guide, not a target.

How coaches use the 100m predictor

Use this 100m predictor when you have acceleration and max-velocity practice timing and need a quick race projection.

  • Estimate 100m readiness from block 30m and fly 10m timing-gate sessions.
  • Compare neutral, legal-wind, and ideal-reaction scenarios before race week.
  • Give sprinters a concrete performance target from practice data.

100m Predictor FAQ

Use a block 30m split, a flying 10m split, wind, and reaction time. The block and fly inputs matter most.

Use fully automatic, timing-gate, or video-derived splits when possible. Hand times usually need adjustment and can make the prediction too optimistic.
